How far do I have to run?
First of all, you don’t have to run. Walking, or light jogging, is more than acceptable. Secondly, you don’t have to go far at all – even 10 metres will do. However, if you want to, you can journey the whole 10 miles within each section (although you won’t be carrying the torch all the time).
What happens if I don’t live in Moray?
That’s not a problem – if you’re prepared to help us meet the challenge, then we’d be delighted to have you joining in.
How will I know where to go and when?
We will have a ‘main contact’ for each of the 11 sections. These people will be in touch with you nearer the time to provide you with more details once you have registered.
Can my child take part?
Yes, absolutely. However, if your child is under 16, we need your consent, plus a responsible adult to be with them on the day. This could be done in various forms e.g. as part of club or group (check with your club leader), through a school, with a carer or guardian, or someone over 16 appointed by yourself. Please check with your Active Schools Co-ordinator who will know about this event.
I think it is a fantastic Idea. Can I do more to help?
Absolutely, the more the merrier. If you are prepared to volunteer, please contact the WJRM Secretary secretary@walkjogrunmoray.org.uk
I’m planning to get my class (or club) involved. Do I need to register everyone?
We are encouraging all of Moray’s schools, sport clubs, voluntary organisations and workplaces to take part, but there’s no requirement to register everyone individually if done as a group. If you are a school or club group, please contact your local Active School Co-coordinator or Sport Development officer. If you are a workplace or informal group, please contact the WJRM Secretary at secretary@walkjogrunmoray.org.uk
What happens if I change my mind?
We realise that some people may register, but will have to withdraw due to change of circumstances. However once you register, please save the date and aim to commit.
Will it cost anything?
No, although we will be collecting on the day for Sports Relief and hoping for at least £1 donation from every participant.
